Does the air show organizer and safety officer have the power to report instances of unsafe flying to the CAA? and who polices who can and cannot fly what ever aircraft , for instance if i had a license that enabled me to fly a light twin, could i jump into a warbird only after a very brief familiarization course ? would i have to prove to any regulatory body that i have the flying hours and skills to handle a much faster aircraft? so having been reprimanded at Southport would the organizers of Shoreham have known ?

In order to avoid the possibility of their getting into trouble now this matter is going before the courts, people really ought to have a care about how much they say about what has or has not happened. Perhaps the mods. need to lock down this thread now.

I suggest you look up the reporting from the time on Southport, the AAIB report on Shoreham, and the CAA's announcements as they changed the regulations following the Shoreham crash. Most of that information should be available from those sources.

Meanwhile, I share @paulhitch's view - this case is sub judice, and great care needs taking with any speculation.

Agree. The Shoreham case should now be off-limits until after the trial.
