    My first uniform when I joined the light blue had a maker's label sewn into it - it was dated 1947. Some cold weather gear that we were issued with in 1969 had been made for the Norwegian campaign in 1940. Does either of them count as heritage clothing?

    I've often thought that what really spoils the period look at heritage railways is the passengers...
