I saw the Hastings unit today, which led me to look at their website, and see that Hasting Diesels don't really appear to update their online presence anymore beyond railtours.

I read in a copy of heritage railway that they wanted to restore two more of the driving units they have so they can run a eight car unit, but I can't remember how long ago that was, and I certainly haven't read anymore about it online.

    Does anyone know anything?

Seems to be a closed group from the link.

I have regular meetings there for work, and they're almost back up to 3 motor coaches (one required overhaul). Unlikely they will run 2 units as they won't be corridor connected, therefore no access to the buffet car.

Just ask to join. Unlikely you'll be refused.

  6. 60019 (or 60119, as I gues it will be) has been 'almost' ready for at least three years, hasn't it? Then there's 60001 and a bunch of the trailer cars which, 30 years on, are still in as-withdrawn condtion.

Restoration updates from HDL seem to be frustratingly few and far between.
