The T9 would be nice. Just realised I have a biplane flight from Staverton on the 25th May - wonder if I can persuade the pilot to head GWSR way :)

    Visitors 34007 and 34092

    Home fleet 7820, 2807, 4270, 5542

35006 probably unlikely but maybe on display

I had a very enjoyable day with 2807 on goods this week and many thanks to the GWSR for the warm welcome

34007 and 34092. Perhaps an opportunity to re-enact the final days of the Somerset and Dorset Railway. :) <BJ>

With 35006 in evidence, whether static or not, it's more like the last years at Salisbury MPD - the last depot for all three of these Bulleids.

I do hope 35006 is ready for the gala... the last time a Merchant Navy returned to steam after restoration from Barry one of its first gala appearances featured a MHR West Country and soon after the Merchant visited the MHR .... would nice to see a bit of history repeating itself.

    As a thought

with 5542, 7820, 2807 , 34007, 34092 plus 35006 on site , Yeovil becomes the place as the GWR loco's would have been seen through Pen Mill and possibly even on shed at Yeovil Town

Reading on the steam loco blog sounds like there is a possibility of four guests this year, presumably as P&O is not expected to be running. Found out the third guest loco over the weekend, even more annoyed I can't come now! Also heard that P&O MIGHT be able to do an occasional double header, perhaps the short run from Toddington to Winchcombe (don't snigger at the back there) for testing purposes, and might be able in the bay platform at Winchcombe for footplate visits, although thinking about it not sure if it will fit with the model railway coach too! On the other hand someone could be having me on! :D

It won't be the end of the world if P&O isn't ready for the gala. In fact, it could work out quite well:- put on a good show with the locos that will be used, let everyone (especially Bulleid fans) see what a lovely line the GWSR is and hopefully, a good few visitors to the gala will be encouraged to come back for another visit later in the year when P&O is in traffic.

You're right but the selfish part of me reminds me that I haven't seen one for 10 years.:(

I got to admit, I'm waiting for P&O to return to steam before visiting the line. When she does return it will be like a mini gala for the railway with the amount of people that will come and see her

Well the blog as I read it seems to more than suggest one more and three in total..
''There is a third tender engine under negotiation to complete the line up. It is currently planned to have all three visiting locomotives facing north for our gala''

I'd love to see P&O running at the gala, but I too agree it won't be a huge loss if not, though I'd like it to be present at least outwardly complete, so we can have ourselves a good old fashioned line up of Bulleid's finest. :)

Speaking of the third guest, part of me hopes they'll complete the line up with a Rebuilt Light Bulleid Pacific, Sir Keith Park perchance...?

If you look on the recruitment fair post, it mentions a possible fourth loco under the picture of the gala flyer, which by the way, looks great!

    Isn't P & O actually one of Ron Jarvis's finest? - as is SKP
