Is that an Americanism then? If it is I do apologise, I make a habit of picking people up on Americanisms too. :)

Thanks everyone who attended over the weekend and for all the nice comments we are hearing. We work hard to try and put on a good show so it's nice to hear that people enjoyed themselves. I must say that there are a few western diehards who have been pleasantly surprised by just how good wells is. If you were unable to make it last weekend you have one more chance to see the two west country's in action, this coming Saturday 30th may will see both 34007 and 34092 handling the service trains (normal fares apply) then Sunday it will be just wells and a Gwsr home fleet loco as we need to prepare wadebridge for departure. You've seen the footage, come and see them close up!

So can you please explain why an '8F' is not an '8G' if its hauling 'goods' rather than 'freight' trains? Taking this locomotive type into consideration, the term 'freight' has been use in Britain since at least 1935.

Funnily enough my brother and I bought 3 day rovers in advance but never used them which I regret.

I look forward to going on board this weekend anyway!

I for one will be back on Saturday! Do you know which of the Bulleids will be first out? Travelling from a distance and want to catch as much Wells action as possible!

I'm not really the person to ask but according the loco roster Wells will be out of Toddington first- I'm trying to go front window behind 34092, 34007 and the Class 24 24081 throughout the day so I will probably see you somewhere!!!

I had a long chat with him in C+W as he liked the vantage points for taking photos, especially on the loco footplate. He mentioned you, he thought you were crackers! I'll look out for you on the trains on Saturday then, considering a ride myself, but might just enjoy watching it with a paintbrush in my hand at Winchcombe - I wonder if anything on the platform needs painting... :D

My videos of the Gala on Bank Holiday Monday. One video features overall footage of the gala and the second is the Double Headed Bulleid's during the day.

34092 is on train one (7 coach choc/cream set) and 34007 will be train two on the 7 coach maroon. Come and say hello as myself and Ben will be crewing wells on trips two and three.

First visit to the railway last Monday, been meaning to get down there for a while now. To echo the other comments on here it was great, thanks to all involved. I'm sure I'll be back again sometime soon.

We decided tea break on the platform was a good idea on Saturday! Hmm, I suppose I ought to make a start sorting through my 400 odd photos from the gala, can't quite muster p the energy yet though...

Aha!.... Busted! The "photter on top of the signal" had just been relieved from his morning shift of firing Wadebridge. He would like to make it known that the signals and in fact the whole yard area to the north of the platforms at Winchcombe are out of bounds to the public, even lineside pass holders.
