GWRPG sold stock moving out (and theft!)

Discussion in 'On Track.' started by GWR Preservation Group, May 2, 2021.

During the last week, at Southall Railway Centre, home to the GWR Preservation Group, two Ruston diesel locomotives and three wagons were transported away to their new home at Tanat Valley Light Railway.

Our sincere thanks go to Reid’s Transport for a very professional and friendly move of the five items. I was personally amazed at the transport trailer facilities that are used to load and offload any type of railway stock.

Unfortunately the whole project was spoilt by a theft from the two diesel locomotives, only discovered on arrival at their destination, so were only taken very shortly before removal as the cab was not entered.

Items stolen were most of the internal cab plates over pressure gauges, the large builders and information plates and Ruston sign from front of the loco’.This marred a very successful project. If anyone has information on their whereabouts please first contact Tanat Valley Light Railway on 01691 780042, and the GWRPG. (No recourse will be taken if items are returned).
