And without them we would not have all these great stills and videos of the whole tour spending quite a bit of money on their travels, so yes they have every right to pass comments on the whole event.
As for the planning and changes en route, when you have organised such a complex tour you may get to realise that things do crop up that means a change to plan A, until then let those who know what they are doing get on with it.

Why are you complaining so much when you’re not on the train?

Just worth mentioning that with a different crew out of EDB it was a great climb to Dalgetty.

And plenty of soot on the table cloth, the most we have had to date.

46115 tomorrow announcement made on the train today. While Network Rail had all already approved the double header, the structural engineer would not allow it.

To be precise, NR didn't actually approve it - as with all charters, it was always going to be subject to clearance by the gauging and structures engineers.

In this case, the latter said no.

Totally unhelpful therefore. I presume that NR thinks that it's easy to switch things around at the last minute.

So when they get a plan with a 'heads up" of a double header request over a route that maybe hasn't had a 7P and an 8P before they just sit on it till a week before?

I have to say that every day is a school day on here.

By the way. @Spamcan81, I think I'm entitled to have a view as I was affected by today's electric climb of Cobbinshaw., for example.

Postscript to today that will have generated lovely images, I expect.

I took a look in BIL's tender on return to Stirling. Enough to get home according to Steve Chipperfield but when you can see more tender than coal it's understandable why BIL wasn't the loco of choice for the marathon steaming day.

But at least the RTC and West Coast can chalk up a MN in Fife plus a Forth Bridge crossing.

That could well be the case so what can be done about it except be prepared to change things on the fly which WCR are adept at doing, unless you have a better suggestion?

We all love a grumble, don't we? Even if it's to grumble about other peoples' grumbles.

Of course you’re entitled to a view and I’m entitled to mine. Mine being that your continual moaning is tedious. It seems you have an almost perpetual downer on anything RTC/WCRC.

That would all make sense were it not for the list of trips I pay for in support of the RTC such as GBXIV. So that first observation is clearly rubbish.

As for WCRC, I can't be bothered to find for you comments I have made previously about, for example, the fact that it's the only set up that can support a venture like the GB tours. So you're on shaky ground with that as well.

As this thread is about GBXIV perhaps personal comments should have no place on it or anywhere actually?

Does anyone have any idea if Bahamas is running Keighley to Carnforth today? There is a "Q" path on RTT but not activated yet. I have checked all the usual sources but no info.

*EDIT* the path has now activated.
