Unfortunately not! I'm behind the train in your photo, about 10 yards further back and you probably would've got me!

I must say I enjoyed the event a lot. Managed a handful of shots Friday afternoon (after the drive over from Blackpool) but threw in the towel on Saturday and rode the trains all day...which was lovely. I was amazed at the number of people lineside in all that filthy weather!

This morning started well with sunshine and I hope it kept going for those who could stay later than myself! As ever, a huge thanks to everyone involved.

Just a couple from me of Sunday's activity. A close run thing with the B12. 8572.jpg 13065.jpg

Nice pictures, I was there on the Sunday. I particular wanted to see the B12 which I haven't seen running before. Was great to have a ride in the LNER buffet car behind it. LNER loco and coach + double track main line, nice. Was hard to get good photos though as was very busy.

I really enjoyed the gala I was there all 3 days filming on the lineside and had a ride behind the B12 and Crab. They where the star performers. Check out my footage of the gala on my YouTube page called British Steam Footage.

I imagine the TPO operation is quite a strict one these days; too slow and it won't work but in this day and age silly fast speeds will be all over social media and the crew / railway could be in trouble. The Ivatt is lifting its water in one video I've seen, which won't help acceleration.

Compared to the autumn gala they were tame. I was not expecting anything over 35 mark, but just a bit of a let down in the lack of vocal bark. As commented above by David, 'I think we've been spoilt in over recent years with good runs' I agree there was definitely an issue on approach with the Ivatt.

IIRC the Didcot apparatus works ok at lower speeds than the GCR's TPO runs.

Footage from all three days. Only to be cut short on the Sunday with a broken camera. The unexpected sunny weather on Sunday certainly made up for the weather on Saturday.

Superb quality and very well shot/edited. I particularly liked the silhouette shot of the 9F on freight from 8.45! Pleasure to watch...thanks for sharing :) Hope your camera problem is not an expensive fix.

Thanks very much! I did enjoy the 9F silhouette and thought it would round off Friday in fine style. The camera unfortunately is smashed good and I’m looking at £500+ to replace it...

A selection of photos from all 3 days, another excellent Gala from the GCR and I am glad I decided to get a lineside pass for the first time this year. https://www.flickr.com/photos/djcs_trains/albums/72157663184929087
