The event will mark the return to traffic of Kerr Stuart w/n 4388 of 1926 following restoration at the railway. Also representing Kerr Stuart will be Diesel Mechanical w/n 4421 which will haul it’s first ever passenger trains at 09:30 on Saturday September 3rd and Sunday 4th at the same time. Pre-booking is essential for this special train and must be purchased as ‘add-on’ to the day rover tickets. In addition, it will also be the last appearance of Beyer Peacock 1827 before the commencement of its 10 yearly overhaul (Note: BP 1827 may be replaced by an alternative locomotive).

The Knotty Heritage Train will be running throughout the day from Caverswall Rd station with two locos in steam working turn-and-turn-about. The Victorian atmosphere will be enhanced by volunteers in period costume. There will be a chance to meet some of Queen Victoria’s Red Coats on leave, and visitors are encouraged to dress up to take part in the nineteenth century fun.

The event will also feature the first public display of Midland Railway Picnic Saloon No 348 to allow visitors to view the progress of resoration to traffic.

Tickets can be booked online at https://foxfieldrailway.co.uk/event/kerr-stuart-vintage-weekend/
