    I had the smoke box number plate of 40016 for many years in the 1970s i had been given it by an uncle who worked for T Ward scrap yard in barrow unfortunatelyi sold it along side 4 others i had for £4 each to a local second hand dealer , a lot of money to a ten year old !

    The pic of 40016 in front of the 2p 440 must have been in thomas wards of barrow as that was one of the other plates i had
