Indeed, I've been pleasantly surprised by the standard of reporting. Well done NRM.

Yes, the reporting is not too bad this time. Might have to buy a few papers tomorrow. The Independent on Sunday had a good two page spread last weekend.

Well yes, that's what it would normally be called. But hasn't it been described on here as "black"? Hence my postulating "pale black".

Yes; the 2 locomotives are acting as one unit given that the problems with FS's air-brakes require 45407 to be used until next week when there is more time to attend to the problem. I understand the brakes work but the problems lie with the compressor but since this is only lineside talk I don't know the actual scenario; suffice to say that the unit (i.e. 60103 + 45407) will be operated throughout this weekends with 60103 doing most of the work and 45407 assisting as necessary.

I dodged the Watch Towers, dogs and barbed wire and have escaped up north. Been doing a recce on the ELR to do some filming tomorrow, on the way back to my temporary abode I dropped by at Bury, just to check it out. Wasn't expecting much, and then in the deepening gloom this happened. Grabbed the camera and here we go

Great to see 60103 back in steam again. Lets hope 60103 doesn't spend all its time on main line tours. I'm looking forward to seeing Scotsman visiting a few perserved railways in the coming months.
