I suspect there will, but hopefully the NRM and Rileys will put their foot down and squash such aspirations at the start.

And if the train does need 8p power, there is always 60163, repaint in in BR green, no one would tell them apart

It's a typically arrogant assertion that the majority of the general public doesn't recognise that steam locomotives are different. I remember one photter on a platform at Ropley telling an elderly lady that the apple green locomotive at the platform was Flying Scotsman. He was somewhat astonished when the lady in question replied that the locomotive was in fact Tornado and that her father had driven her classmate, Kestrel, in the 1950s...

Report it to the paper then, and they will remove it....

The real answer is you cannot generalise! I was once surprised to asked in all seriousness, whether a certain locomotive was a diesel made to look like a steam engine. Apart from the usual whisps of steam, the vacuum ejector was especially noisy. These people did not come over as "unsophisticated"!

I certainly agree with that, one of my friends told me he'd seen a steam locomotive and asked me to identify it from his description, I naturally agreed but couldn't get it from his description, he said it was black and had a tender! That was all I got, he's not stupid either, so I can completely relate to the above sentiment

It looks like the reverse if you look at their respective schedules so far published for 2016.

I am sure both will be well looked after to the best abilities of their operators. As an LNER enthusiast I am in heaven this year. It's just such a pity that all three working A4s chose this year gone to retire for overhaul.

Your engines are commercial entities, quite properly earning their corn wherever, whenever - customer requests, gets?

But think of the future lineup. 5-7 years and you could well see
    A1
    A2
    A3
    A4
    P2
    B1
    K3
    K4

I am sure other will add whatever I may have missed...

I will happily wait for such potential spectacles.
Does anyone here expect anything less at this point?! Again, good work! Its been impressive to watch the progress, especially over the last year!
