Epping Ongar Railway 2018 Galas

    The Epping Ongar Railway has a couple of Galas lined up for the 2018 calendar;

    28 & 29 April - Spring Diesel Gala
    13 & 13 May - London Transport Weekend
    8 - 10 June - Steam Gala
    15 & 16 September - Autumn Diesel Gala

    Other visiting locomotives are still yet to be confirmed for most, however S160 No.5197 (form Churnet Valley) has been provisionally lined up for the June Steam Gala, subject to contract. It is hoped to see the loco in Essex for all of June, during which a number of Driver Experience courses should be available; for more information on these and to register interest, please contact the EOR directly. Metropolitan 1 will still be on the line and expected to be in service, as is the line's Industrial Hawthorne Leslie 'Isabel' (all subject to the usual operational availability.)

    It should be quite an event, with hopes to incorporate freight and brake van rides into the timetable.

    April 28, June 9 and September 15 will also see Real Ale Trains run into the evening, with offerings from local companies available at on-board bars.
