Workshop X is a private workshop in Killamarsh, Derbyshire. I don’t know much about it other than it has completed a few restorations and I think it’s mainly volunteer staffed?

Also known as Darnall Loco on Instagram, and where @Mrcow is involved. Matheran 740 has just gone there from South Tynedale Railway.

It's mostly narrow gauge restorations and a lot of people from Statfold are involved there. It's well known as the best worst-kept secret in preservation...
Manning Wardle L Class 'Abernant' (the MW from Ruddington) is there at the moment according to an inside source.

It's been documented in the weekly newsletter, so not really a secret needing an inside source!

Does anyone know the status of the other MWs that were at the GCRN then?

2009 & 2015 are in two (different) private locations. Reported to be 2015 that's at Workshop X, though others may know for sure. I've no idea where the other location is. But updates on both are being posted in the 'Industrial Locomotive Enthusiasts Page' FB group, for those on there. It's good to see some progress.
I understand 1762 is still at Ruddington.

Does anyone know the identity of the ex-S&L 0-6-0ST (MW/Kitson/RSH) that’s located at a private site in West Yorkshire? Don’t want to be more specific about location as apparently the owner doesn’t want hoardes of enthusiasts turning up but it is visible from a main road.
(For the record - this question was asked on Facebook a few weeks ago, but not by me)

Thank you. Cavan andLeitrim didn't make sense and I hadn't thought of non-railway companies.

Sorry for not clarifying that earlier. I’ve asked on here as it is potentially one ofthose that was at GCR(N)

Came across this today on RailAdvent https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2023/1...-good-progress-on-two-major-projects.html/amp

Looking forward to a visit in the new year to see the new shed. I've not seen any recent update on when there might be a return of services along the line, but on the GCR events for 2024 there is a joint event with them tocelebrate 125 years of the London extension. Would be good to be able to be able to do both lines on the same weekend.

Good to see the completed roof on the new carriage shed. There is an update on the GCR(N) website. Lets hope the final fundraising for the roller front doors is going well.

The carriage shed has the funding now for the front doors and is starting the electric fit out. Good to see the progress.
The "Cutting Edge" team are also making a big difference to the look of the line further South.

    Progress?

Its not been touched this year and is stalled with more issues than the current government, I have actually used it as a case study with my recent grad intake on how not to PM something

I have seen some pictures on social media showing that the S160's have left Ruddington now with one moving to the company that runs Polar Express, does anyone know where the others have gone to? It would be great to see them all back in running order!
