There was a Gruffalo themed family fun weekend on at the Transport Museum, so presume it was on as a buggie van (same happens during Thomas and Santa's).

Timeless, apart from the kids clothing, but it could so have been taken anytime from the 1960's to today,

Hi Alan - interested to learn they wanted your magazines, last time I asked at Bolton Street a few years back, they weren't interested. Times have changed, I wish to rid myself of Railway Mag/Railway World/Steam Railway and others. I will have an sortie to Rawtenstall this weekend

If ELR aren't interested, I've found the VCT at Ingrow West a welcoming home for surplus magazines

It's actually the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Trust who operate the magazine sales as far as I'm aware. I am a member and delivered a load of books there last weekend. It proves a nice little earner BTW.

Are you sure about that as the VCT website https://www.vintagecarriagestrust.org/magazines.htm says make cheques payable to VCT? I've donated something like 2000 magazines including full sets in binders to the VCT and they were always very appreciative.
    Ray.

I think there's a bit of confusion creeping in. The L&Y Trust are on the ELR, not on the KWVR where the VCT are based.

The L & Y Trust have locos based at the ELR. They also have Pug 51218 and restored L & Y carriages based at the KWVR.

The L&Y Rly Trust are headquatered at Oxenhope. They loan out their locos/carriages to whoever...

Hi Harold, they were over the moon when I told them what I had. There were 5 cardboard boxes of magazines, mostly Steam World, some Steam Railway, the odd Modern
Railways and some Trains Illustrated dating from the 1950s/60s. Two of the station staff helped to carry them in and said they would distribute them throughout the railway.
So I assume the shops at Ramsbottom and Bolton St at Bury would get some and maybe the museum at Bury.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they got it running again.

Wasn't 2500 one of the ones the NRM would consider allowing restoration for if someone came up with a plan and a couple of barrows of fivers?

The Vintage Carriage Trust are based at Ingrow on the KWVR, just down from the Bahamas Locomotive Society 'Engine Shed', they accept and raise funds from a massive range of recycled books and magazines.

I believe it was something 45690’s owner wanted to return to action during their time at York.
If there’s a non disclosure agreement from one of those parties why will I not be surprised?

There were plans to overhaul her for use on York NRM - Shildon shuttles, after the trial trips a few years ago, done by Princess Elizabeth & Olton Hall, IIRC. It was interesting to arrive directly into NRM South Yard from Shildon.

However, a change of policy by the SMG seemingly put paid to that. A shame, because that sort of thing would have been ideal for 2500.
