Thanks. Shame it wasn't a bit brighter but it was still an awesome sight.

pleased to hear all the positive comments. and unfortunatly all i can do is apologise for the cancelling of the caprotti double header on the saturday due to the slight injector problem with 46443 (which was rectified rapidly and without having to withdraw the loco. many thanks to Riley Engineering for the assistance over the whole weekend) i made the decision to take 73129 off the front of 71000 just in case 46443 was a complete failure. hope to see you all for the February Steam Event.

    Thanks,

Try again; I mentioned this to Richard Tuplin and he said that the link has been reset; alternatively link in to Railway Herald site then select the "Imaging Centre" then "Contributing Photographers" then select "Fred Kerr". Any comments welcome.

Ta muchly kind sir ! In truth there is a wide variety of shots to be had on the ELR but many are trackside much to the chagrin of some who think photographers should be on "the right side of the fence". To get good photographs you need to be where the photo is - and that's the art of the photographer to see it.

Looking at your recent ELR shots on various forums there are quite a number that have been taken from 'trackside' positions, even allowing for the ones at photo charters there are several that seem to involve a fair degree of 'trespass'. Do you have permission for this and how do I get it?

    Awaiting Fred's respose with interest.

Complimentary ELR photo permit when you join the Lada Owners or HNRC Fan clubs?

I simply go where others go - if "on the wrong side of the fence" I am rarely alone with either another photographer in attendance or a member of the working staff aware of my presence and having provided guidance as where not to stand.

So Fred it's ok to trespass as long as you do it with others?

If someone broke into a neighbour's house, would you join them too?

I think you should read and take note of the wnxx posting by David L,there is a clue who he is in his name.

Not so much hook, line and sinker, more caught by the Japanese whaling fleet.

Not quite caught - simply giving the basic facts to avoid turning this into another argument that nobody wins. Those familiar with the ELR know the situation regarding photography and I am not prepared to be the scapegoat for another interminable round of "who does what - who goes where" discussion. I resent the discussion of these matters by attempting to highlight a situation through personal attacks - if you don't like the situation have words with those having the power to change it else desist from stirring up problems where none need exist.
