Has anyone any idea of the weight of rail i.e. lbs/ft?

The rail is approximately 45lbs per length.

My father's phone number is in the catalogue if people have enquiries.

Just to clarify as we both seem to have made an error - it should then be 45lb/yd?

I wish you well in the economic climate and the price of steel, as I have a feeling a lot will go for scrap - shame it would have been nice to see a deal done to keep it intact.

    Hello,

Unfortunately whilst steaming the Feldbahn, to test the recently refurbished injectors, one of the boiler tubes failed.
As the boiler is only one year away from its ten yearly we now offer the loco for sale without a current boiler certificate, and requiring a ten yearly boiler exam.
All historical inspection paper work including last months cold exam will be available for inspection on the sale day.

    Thank you for your time.

I love this Feldbahn loco. Any effort to buy it/restore it and preferably keep it somewhere in the South/South West would have my full support!

I know we would all like to see it kept together but it won't happen, what I can say is I have heard that the Narrow Gauge Mafia have spoken and some of the stuff will find its way to a number of projects, but you will also have to realise that some of it may end up going to Europe, rumor has it that this sale is attracting interest all around Europe.

What concerned me more is that the Hunslet 0-4-2 may not sell, given that many of the railways in the UK which could offer it a home have too many steam locos at present.
If every you want Peter Rampton or Graham Lee to be at an Auction this is the one to be at.

Also how do you remove that rail and the points buried in concrete by Tuesday 9th of October i don't know

    Happy bidding folks

I think that Tuesday 9th October is standard auctioneers time scale.
The engines, rolling stock and track/points etc. would be "by arrangement" in "reasonable time".

I must say the auction is creating quite a buzz in the narrow gauge world.

Especially those points buried in concrete - nobody has thought about this. Especially when the spares for an engine are a seperate lot and are to be sold before the Loco -Crazy. Although there has been a lot of interest, I have a feeling there are many watchers and not buyers.

    Good evening Stormforce:
I have put a great deal of thought in to this, there is no major deadline for the removal of the larger items, as Holdtight has said this is just standard auctioneers speak. The kerr Stuart/Hunslet spares are listed seperatly becuse A) there are a number of these locos around B) some of the items are generic Kerr Stuart parts that would fit other classes. It is also normal to put the large items at the end of an auction.

If you would like to discuss this further feel free to phone me, my phone number is in the catalouge. Also feel free to have the honsety to put your name on your post.

    Kind regards Bob Millard

Hi Stormforce, I think you you could be right, sadly I see this as the first of many to come as the owners get to old to work on the locos or they reach the end of there line so to speak, hopefully there will be someone out out there who can or will buy some (most) of this equipment.

    Regards

    Colin

From the catalogue "Removal of goods
All goods become the responsibility of the purchaser at the fall of the hammer. Please remove lots as
soon as possible after payment and in any case by Tuesday 9th October 2012. Any goods remaining
after that date may be disposed of at no cost to the Auctioneers or their clients
    .

A tad unfair of Mr Millard because 'Stormforce's' full name is available on his profile and, what's more, the record shows that Mr Millard actually visited that profile. Cheap point, maybe?

I see that common sense has prevailed:dance: - The spares will be sold after the Loco now - not so crazy.

    Everything is ready, I hope!
We have got a marquee with the majority of the lots in. Parking is across theroad and we have a food wagon on site Saturday.
There is plenty of undercover space so hopefully we can dodge the showers OK.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what sells in the current climate.
