    Hi

I have bought a carriage door that’s described as from MK1 and also as from 108 stock. So not really sure what stock it’s from.

I was asking on a Facebook group for advise on painting when someone asked if I have an asbestos certificate for the door.

This is something that I didn’t think of is it likely to have asbestos in it? Is this something I should be concerned about?

    Hi Alex,

I can assure you that carriage doors do not contain asbestos. They are constructed either of timber frame and steel skin, aluninium casting or glass fibre casting. If it's from a class 108 it could have a different profile to a std mk1, post a picture and it can be identified.

    Regards, Paul
