c.1975 92203 worked two trips. One took a Newport (Gwent) - Eastleigh tour from Westbury to Eastleigh and on the same day took a Paddington - Cranmore round the houses tour from Eastleigh to Westbury. I have some Super 8 footage taken on board the steam leg.

I only met David once, at Railfest in 2004. I was chatting to him whilst stood next to 92203, when the whistle of Black Prince was operated, rather enthusiastically. His comment was "I wish that people wouldn't do that unless there's a good reason for it". I agreed with him and we continued our chat. To my chagrin, a few moments later a small human tornado, otherwise known as my then 8 year old daughter, came charging over to us, shouting "Daddy, daddy, did you hear me blowing that whistle?". I nearly died of embarrassment - David was amused!

A fitting memorial, seen in action today.
