DSC_6029 (2).JPG Well overdue a visit to see 6023 on the DSR. The sun wasn't playing ball however, so please excuse my effort (5/9/2018)

I've been keeping an eye on the overhauls of 5239 (excellent updates on the ESR website) and the S160 (thanks to Peter best on his Facebook page). Are there any updates on 4555?

Is the king running into October or is the end of the month the end?

6023 in action last Sunday, filmed in between seeing Clan Line on the Torbay Express, which also features in the video. I hope you enjoy it :)

A good video Kristian. which not only shows the trains to perfection but the magnificent scenery that the DSR travels through.

Excellent day despite the weather being a bit glum!! King facing Kingswear and looking lightly “weathered “, standard facing Paignton and in good form. Glad I made the trip.

    Hello,

Does anyone know which end the class 25 will be on this weekend for the 11 coach trains? Is the King still likely to be facing Kingswear?

Hoping to grab some shots in the morning and then a ride in the afternoon!

    Many thanks

Should think the king would be facing kingswear and the rat on the rear.

The king has been turned to face paignton. Load will be 11. Class 25 Kingswear end to permit shunt and release at paignton and draw the train into Kingswear having detached the king just outside. Plan is to drift speed off at the foot of the bank at Britannia then apply power. The climb out of greenway from a stand over the reverse curves should worth experiencing. Class 25 not planning to assist except in case of need. If you are coming to photograph, please do not trespass.

Sorry I’m confused, it don’t take much these days. Does the King double head with Rat to Kingswear then comes off and goes to rear to take the train to Paignton?

    Excellent run again this afternoon,
My son had a footplate experience on 6024......
The return turn had 7827 piloting 6024 and doing a fair bit of work on a ' test run' to Paignton..
The King uses a lot of coal........ This morning it was load 11 due to high passenger numbers but I didn't see that!
Well worth a run - it looked just right at Kingswear as we drew in to a packed platform.
Thanks to all at this fantastic line

Visited today. 75014 absolutely barking as it went about it’s work. Was on load 7 - trains reasonably well loaded (we travelled 1215 Pz Kw and 1700 ex Kw.

We passed at Churston what looked like 4555 (with a new smoke box); with BR blue class 03 attached and there was a Alleleys low loader poised by Churston shed at 1215. When we returned passing at 1715 the 03 was outside Churston shed.

Mrs Devonbelle took a rather nice shot of the standard at Kingswear.

    Very enjoyable trip
