I assume show pony steam isn't an option due to the severity of the fire risk in that area ??

See post 199. Not clear if that means LNW zone or the entire network but the deal for the S and C referred to by Mr Shuttleworth is clearly off for the moment, correctly IMHO. Saddleworth, Tameside and Winter Hill have been a game changer and no 'unnecessary' risks can be taken from a public perception point of view.

Ed Just read on another site that it was actually a loco problem today so above might be wide of mark.

An issue with the 8F, before it left Carnforth. Steam ('Leander') agreed for tomorrow, with diesel inside.

Pity it's not this kind of 37. Now that's more like it. In dreams only,

Be interesting to see what the fire risk is, it has hammered it down in south Cumbria for a lot of the day!

Might be revised downwards as they seem to set the risk level on Mondays. But who knows...

48151 came to a near stand just North of Kirkby Stephen station but the signal can’t have been against the train as the unit went South at least an hour earlier. The 47 that had been idling then kicked in big time as it went into the station oddly.
