    Here's a silly one I'm sure you've heard before......just go with it.
Three hydraulics in the pub for a few drinks (not unusual), says the husky ailing Western to his mates Warship and Hymek, "I'm off, can't torque for much longer, I think I'm about to lose my voith"!!
I thought is was quite amusing in my youth, still sounds quite good as my second youth (retirement) approaches.

Passed at 11:11 as Free2grice says, but wasn't due till 11:25 so could be early on James's timings.

Cracking shot David, very nice to see it back on the main line. Last I heard, it was running roughly to time.

Thank you sir, I've just been viewing a couple of the links you posted.

 Aye, they sound smooth enough, a bit underpowered though. What you need is a couple of smooth 1650hp two strokes humming away for hour after hour, oh, and with electric drive as well, THEN you've got yourself a decent locomotive.............:peace::nod:

I'll try to find a clip of 55022 on Copy Pit, it'll show you Western lads what it's all about.....

Got a sound recording somewhere that I took from the cab of D1062 leaving Corfe up the 1 in 80 with a dead Deltic, 5 coaches and a dead 37 in tow that I'll try to dig out; it sounded absolutely awesome.

There are diesels, there are diesel hydraulics...and then there's the Westerns...

Hmn, I've seen that clip before, not good. IIRC it's been discussed on here before and I can't see anything can be gained by going through it again. But it's not good to treat a piece of machinery like that.

I'll second that statement. When we took a trip to Cornwall on a Class 40/52 combo tour in 2010, 40145 slipped to walking pace on one of the 1-in-something steep Cornish branches (I forget which one) in the drizzle: D1015 managed to shove the 12 coaches and 40 (from the rear as they were top and tailed) to get things going again - a great performance.
