On a 13 coach train that is one superb hill climbing performance.

Do you have the tare and gross tonnage Julian? I suspect gross must be circa 500 tons.

Sorry don't have exact tonnage - perhaps someone else can assist. It truly was a spine tingling performance.

You can't beat a "streak" on the ECML, especially when it's 60007.

Beautifully turned out as usual, seen HERE just south of Northallerton.

I saw Tornado (or should that be "Thunderbird 1"? \:D/ - no disrespect to Riley International Rescue, btw \:D/ ) and Gresley at York today, & witnessed Gresley's departure. Great to watch, as always.

Good to chat to some of the A1 Trust team again too.

Well done to all involved, and thanks.

A pic of Gresley heading for Dundee this morning making some really nice 'chatter'. 30 seconds earlier or 1 minute later and we were in sun. Anyhow, not too disappointed as the mish-mash stock meant this was always likely to end up in B&W.

    Very nice photo.

Hope we see some more soon, and get a report on how the train is running, (from someone onboard).

    I don't want much, do I!

Watched the train this morning go past my local station Dalgety Bay which is an unstaffed halt. Running about 10 minutes down but we were kept well informed of the train's progress by two announcments over the PA system telling us when the train was passing through North Queensferry and again of its approach to Dalgety Bay. Good PR work there by Network Rail staff, presumably?

Very nice photograph. Can I just ask where you were standing as the impression that the photo gives is that you are standing on the trackside.

I saw Tornado yesterday slowing for its first water stop at Holme. Ten minutes before the train arrived it started to rain so that confirmed that it was running.
