The Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway celebrates its 70th Anniversary over the weekend of the 14th and 15th July 2018.

To mark this very special occasion, an intensive timetable will be in operation throughout the weekend featuring residents from the railway and some very special guests!

At Lakeside Station, there will be children’s activities, model railway layouts, a display of the CCLR's history, driver for a fiver and much more. There will also be a shuttle train operating between Lakeside and Kingsway.

The first visiting locomotive has been announced as 2-4-2 Katie! Built by Trevor Guest in the 1950s, Katie was at CCLR between 1994 and 2001. She then headed off to Windmill Farm Railway before arriving at Kirklees in 2015. Although she did visit CCLR briefly in 2013, we cannot wait to welcome her back again!

Please put the date in your diary and hope to see some forum members there! Our website is www.cclr.co.uk

    More updates soon!

Now less than 4 weeks until the CCLR 70th Anniversary Weekend, hope some of you can make it.

Our second visiting locomotive will be 0-4-0 Saddle Tank 'Smokey Joe' from the Sherwood Forest Railway.

Built in 1991 by Keith Hardy, 'Smokey Joe' had the honour of being the first steam locomotive to run at the railway in 41 years, on the 14th June 1994.

All locomotives are subject to availability.
