That trip commemorates the last Golden Arrow service at all. Today marks the final day of the last steam hauled Golden Arrow service, hence the choice to run to Dover. From the 12th June 1961 the train was hauled by new electric locomotives.

I was up there with you. Did you have the video camera with the black furry mic?

Mine from yesterday at Longfield, leaving Dover and Godstone. Missed one shot at Adisham, Vauxhall Insignia vs MN Pacific, the MN won!

Thanks Ian, most of the rest of the route is a bit of a challenge, even Sole St Bank that NR took a great deal of trouble to clear a few years ago has all grown up again.

Wonderful shots John. The Dover shot is a real corker. Perfect conditions.

Thanks, you are right about the conditions, no exhaust as it came out of Dover then it hit the colder air of the sea and we got the white stuff

I have lost track slightly of the new 'Clan Line' routeing - is the normal return route via Redhill now?

Well the last one was across from Tonbridge to Redhill.

Yes, but I was wondering if anyone happens to know if that will be the norm or if it was a one-off?

Tonbridge - Sevenoaks was blocked for engineering works, that's why the 11th June Pullman ran via Redhill.
Via Maidstone East won't be favoured due to the gradients and extra water consumption compared to via Headcorn.
The route via Sevenoaks and Orpington is open on 22nd July.

    Cheers, Neil

Timing's have appeared for Clan Line's next Belmond duty on the 22nd July and Dover Priory is indeed now the destination for the Golden Age of Travel.
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...22/0000-2359?stp=VS&show=all&order=wtt&toc=ZZ

Despite this next run taking place on a Friday the timings look nearly identical, the only difference I've seen is that on the return, after Tonbridge it goes via Bromley, Beckenham Junction, Crystal Palace and Herne Hill instead of via Godstone and Redhill.

The BP web site says the 22 July trip is via the Surrey Hills. Can this be confirmed (or have I missed that already somewhere)?

See my post at #155. It's the Dover route.
Also heard that apparently the Generator car has returned. Had we not had all this hot weather I would've suggested it could be the first diesel free run.
