We are awaiting confirmation of the times from the local company providing the bus service. The first bus should arrive at Froghall in time for the first Down service of the day then run roughly every hour.

As soon as details are available they will be put on the CVR website.

Will it be possible to make connections from passing trains at Consall? obviously the +10 is possible, but the +0 from a Cheddleton bound train to a Froghall bound train looks a bit risky? 8-[

And how much would the crews of the 4F and jinty consider an appropriate bribe to do **** all on the 1500 off Froghall? \:D/

Any idea what locomotive is rostered on the evening trains, on the Friday evening?

Whilst the thought of evening trains with the Black 5 are a fantastic prospect (and indeed, not to be sniffed at), I know rather a lot of people would be incredibly tempted... by a blast on the S160 in the dark 8-[

The Ffez used to do the same trick on Galas - put the loud locos (Linda or Blanche) on the evening specials, and listen to the blast in the woods!

Anyone tempted...? That S160 sure does have a bark....

Looking fairly unanimous so far then.... =P~

The thought of blasting through the woods in the dark, with that bark from the S160s chimney, really does appeal - especially with the Black Lion so close by! Oh, and that gorgeous chime whistle wailing too. . . .

Looking forward to a bit of S160 thrash over the weekend! =D>

    Well, unless Ring Haw's a possibility? \:D/

First train from Manchester arrives at Stoke at 08.59, so any time after then will be great.

Does anyone know if it's possible to walk the canal towpath between Cheddleton and Consall? A good vantage point for the trains I would imagine...

Yes it is possible but the towpath is well away from the line for most of the way, apart from the half mile or so just north of Consall.

Well I'll be there Sat and Sun, for a couple of runs behind Ring Haw and a farewell fling for the S160 \:D/ Just thought I'd mention the steak night at the Foxfield Railway on the 7th, only a short drive away on your way home!
