The third visiting engine for the Gala will be Ex LMS 5MT No. 44767 George Stevenson, this will replace 42968 at the event.

44767 will now be used on the 12 coach Nat Pres special in tandam with 8F No. 48624 on Saturday the 12th November.

Special thanks to 44767's owning group and the Great Central Railway for allowing 44767 to visit the CVR before its booked visit to their line.

    The steam loco line up is now;

    71000 Duke of Gloucester
    34028 Eddystone
    44767 George Stevenson
    8F No. 48624
    Large Praire No. 5199

    All subject to availability

    Regards

    Chris

This is turning out to be a must go, I reallly fancy this and will be nice to have some face to face misunderstandings for a change, but would like to see the line in daylight too so wondering when the service before is likely to run...

    Jon,

There has been a lot of interest from both Russ Hillier and Matt Allen/ Warwick Falconer about doing photo charters with 71000, 34028 and 44767.

More details will be announced when available.

    Regards

    Chris

This sounds absolutely mega. I hope they get really impressive visitor numbers to cover the costs of loco transport which will surely be huge...

Re: Churnet Valley Railway& Moorland & City Railways Cauldon Lowe Branch re-opening G

I will be there, with my little lad for rides then a walk over the moorland to take some shots in the landsacape, i think a few of the usual charter chaps are making visits up there already to suss out this section, from the OS maps there seems to be public footpaths all over the place.

I still have fond memories from the 80072 charters Matt & Warwick ran in the snow in Feb.

Grest stuff cant wait to witness it.

    Cheers
    Jon.

Will there be a vintage bus running from Stoke-on-Trent railway station to Kingsley & Froghall?

There will be a bus service running for the event, I will confirm the days that the service will run and also the times once I have them available.

I believe that we are looking away from the heritage buses and to something more modern that should hopefully be reliable and also have heating!

    Regards
