I'm not aware of any details for the published gala in February but will post as soon I have them. I believe that the 2011 leaflet was brought forward to be on display for the Caldon Low gala.

We are currently working on a few interesting locos for the gala, we should hopefully have more details soon.

a lady at the office confirmed the train times.

Perhaps we should restore our NSR coach and do a swap :biggrin1:, then again that wouldn't exactly be a fair deal if you were judging from a seating capacity point of view!!

Is there a 'proving run' up to Cauldon on Wednesday morning before the first passenger train?

There should be just to show that everything is in order for passenger service, but I do wonder why they could not just run a light engine up there.

It helps with getting coaching stock out and away from Cheddleton. Getting three sets and 5 locos out using two ground frames isn't always easy!

Re: Churnet Valley Railway& Moorland & City Railways Cauldon Lowe Branch re-opening G

Should be on the MCR website within an hour. Slight change to our plans as 8624 has failed and the Duke is going sooner than planned. We are running 34028 & 44767 on 2 rakes top & tailed with 2 diesels i.e. 34028 & 33 then 44767 & 37. Steam will be leading from Froghall up the hill.

Not ideal but better than cancelling services. 5199 is being gauged on the Cauldon branch later today, and when it has sufficient miles on the CVR from its recent repairs it will (subject to fitting) be running on the branch.

5199 has today passed through Apesford Crossing on its gauging run to Cauldon Lowe.

By the way, RM1152 that used to be visible at Apesford Crossing was on show at Froghall last weekend after a major overhaul. It was the centrepiece of my employers stand at Eurobus 2010 at the NEC as they have very generously supported the rebuild. You should find it on Google. It had to be returned to the overhaulers on Monday (yesterday) as there were a few issues still to be sorted; not surprising after such a major job. It is too good to be routinely stored in the open now, so sadly it will not normally be visible here in the future.
