The Birmingham Railcar Workgroup are pleased to announce that the freshly restored prototype mark 1 General Utility Van W86500 will be in service as a “tail load” behind Class 104/110 3-car set at the Churnet Valley Railway on Sunday 5[SUP]th[/SUP] May. A Cauldon Lowe steam service is also running and normal fares apply. Photographers and travellers alike are welcome to record this recreation of an often forgotten practice of the 1960’s railway. More information on the day is available at www.brcw.co.uk/tail-load-day.
