I had wondered, but then @Big Al seemed to take it seriously, so I started wondering if I had missed something!

    Apologies to @Bulleid Pacific

Pretty good run on the return, although some assistance from Oxted to Oxted Tunnel and stopped again on the curve at Streatham Junction. However, a bonus stretch of track (didn't notice it on RTT previously) is the platform road at Wandsworth Road, which a few of us haven't done before.

What? Sad that there was minimal assistance rather than much assistance? Or were you replying to BP's previous post
which has been well explained in subsequent posts?

Hampstead Heath and Byfleet & New Haw. Have missed this little beast!

The train makes good progress up to Betchworth summit, with no discernible assistance from the 'Slim Jim'.

Edit - the site still refuses to upload my photos after several attempts.

It's just a pity that there wasn't a way of getting the DL to South Croydon to pull the train down to Kingscote other than on the back of the charter. The Bluebell will always present that kind of problem for incoming steam, I guess. I consider myself lucky that I did it when the train had TnT steam.

Maybe we just need to raise the money to get Stowe mainline certified as part of her overhaul to do the tricky "extra bit" from South Croydon whenever there's a tour...

My video and a few photos of yesterday's excursion. Nice to see Mayflower on the Bluebell Railway, having first hoped to do so in 2015! Photos are from Horsted Keynes on the Down run, and Kingscote and Holden Summit on the return.

Thanks very much! That slog over Holden Summit was certainly the highlight of the day, probably the hardest I've ever seen 61306 working.
