How wonderful to see and hear the reins loosened on 60103! I understand the restrictive terms under which it is allowed to operate and there is no shortage of customers . . . BUT . . . if only they would offer a couple of unassisted enthusiasts' trips each year and unleash her over Shap and the S&C. If British India Line can do it, so can Flying Scotsman!

Tucked nicely in between 'The Dalesman' rail tours, 'Flying Scotsman' works day 4 of 'The Cathedrals Express' towards Aisgill summit with Steve Chipperfield
    driving and Andy Simkins firing

Flying Scotsman in full sun heading to the summit of the long drag over the Long drag this afternoon on the Catherdrals express.

If you have ever photographed on the Settle and Carlisle you know how incredibly rare it is that it all comes together, especially in this location!

What a great show from the A3, I can't say I've ever heard her sound like that ! While it's debatable if she's pulling the whole equivalent load of 15+, I'd say at a minimum she's pulling 12 !

I live local as you know Liam but I don’t get the obsession which side is good or bad as it’s still the same noise !! Mind you unless there’s a written rule it’s my mistake lol

Nothing wrong with going against the light as I do it myself, but I thought it was best to make the most of some rare conditions.

Seems strange to me that the sun and wind were in opposition on Tuesday yet nobody has mentioned the fact
