When they're good they're very very good.
    And when they are bad...

Have had some exhilerating runs behind Tangers but it needs the right driver. Some years ago it really struggled on East Suffolk (no, it's not as flat as you think..) but romped up from Colchester to Stratford in just outside even time after crew change. People were asking if it was the same engine.

But yes I was on the Evershot trip and I felt for the crew.

Only did one trip behind Wells, Salisbury to Yeovil and back. IIRC it did rather well...

Just planning a horrible fate for you that's all. I'd hire a good bodyguard if I were you. ;)

Probably because it was the only certified operational class 7 with air brakes on the market at the time of purchase?

Yes the right driver makes a big difference but so does proper maintenance

I see that Tangmere is provisionally booked for a Southall to Swanage run this Wednesday, 25th. Has is left Carnforth then?

45699 would indeed be a treat but it's got to get down to Southall first and I have been ooop North most of the day so haven't had chance to see if it's on it's way.

Edit. Only just seen the WCRC news......
