CHR suffers multiple thefts. 10th. August 2010 The CHR Project has been hit with two cases of theft within a week. On 4th. August sleepers and cast iron chairs were removed from the line near Morton, local scrap dealers have been asked to be on the lookout for these sort of fittings being offered for sale. Meanwhile on the 10th. August the CHR site at Oswestry was raided and tools and equipment to the value of about £6500 was stolen, after breaking into onsite storage. Some of the specialist tools stolen included a balance impact machine, a rail cutting saw and a rail drilling machine, all are specialist railway machines of interest only to other railway restoration schemes, who would hopefully raise the alarm if these tools were offered to them.
