From comments elsewhere, the loco was just being moved to be stored closer to the owning groups work area. No other work planned at present. Some comments indicated that the loco was potentially for sale, but I think these were unofficial comments.

Southern Locomotives (SLL) has a vacancy for an experienced Fitter/Machinist to work on our locomotive fleet. The company currently owns nine steam locos, including seven Bulleid Pacifics, several of which are currently being restored or overhauled.

We are building our professional team to fulfil our plans to return more locos for service on heritage railways, primarily Swanage Railway who we share the workshop with. Salary and Conditions by negotiation.

Please contact Bob Bevis at bob.bevis@southern-locomotives.co.uk

Swanage Railway has announced Strictly Bulleid Two, to be held on 7 - 9th June.

    https://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/events/view/strictly-bulleid-ii

SLL's working trio: Eddystone, Manston and 257 Squadron will be there, and possibly Sir Keith Park if its overhaul is finished by then. Some other Bulleids may also be there.

Hopefully that will be a fixed date - with doubts over the completion of 34053 (not included in the list) it suggests (to me a least) - that it may well be.

I'll leave it a little while before sorting my travel arrangements - two Bulleid pacifics would have been enough to get me down there; three would be wonderful; any more than three would start to convince me that the world didn't really end on 10 July 1967!

Good one Swanage and SLL .

Not sure SKP counts as a "Swanage home loco" anymore either.

After extended firebox repairs, 34081 passed her live steam test today.

Great news, be nice to see 34081 in operation again before too long.

It's been more than 16 years since I last saw this Bulleid in action; Sheffield Park October 2007.

Is that the collective noun for a group of Bulleid Pacifics A bully of Pacific's, :) I suppose if you're a lowly GWR pannier tank, in a country depot somewhere, and then suddenly you find yourself sharing shed space with these huge imposing engines you might feel a bit bulleid .:D
