Did Kenley carry Sir Frederick Pile's crests?.

It was just the crests that got swapped round.

Yes it did. Both were in the works together and the two plaques were mixed up. Both withdrawn with it not having been sorted. Having spent a few years working on the loco Id prefer to see the original family crest on it after rebuilding. That’s what Mike wanted and he went to the trouble of having new pile family crests hand painted in vitreous enamel.

That would be the most-fitting course to take.

I'm likely to have missed something on one or more threads so apologies if so....

Does anyone know what is happening to Tangmere since it's brief outing to London? I don't see any obvious allocations for rail tours?

It will be on the Northern Belle, it’s the only engine they’ve got for working airbraked trains

As someone local to the ELR there's some good news in the recent Southern Locomotives bulletin:

Soon after that we're pleased to report that the locomotive will return to the East Lancs Railway for its third visit, some 30 years after its first. ELR based City of Wells is undergoing overhaul this year so 257 was a natural replacement for the Summer season.

The ELR are hoping to have completed 34092 in time for them to operate in tandem before 34072 heads back down south.

Sounds like they're aiming to have Wells back within a year. Here's hoping the two Bulleids things comes off. Either way I think I'll be popping over to Bury at some point in the summer.

Is Jock Adams still involved with 34092 since its move to the ELR?

    Richard.

Thanks Peter and everyone for your kind words. Hopefully I didn't drop too many clangers as it was mostly ad libbed! Mind you, I'd probably also forget the script if there was one.

    Cheers,

    T

A little Off Topic but could we maybe see a curator with a camera piece with D6700/37350 or 47798?
2 classes of loco that were the backbone of BR between the 1960’s and 1990’s.
Matt, (obviously very biased towards EE Type 3’s;)) :)

Trying to keep work and hobby apart here, but no doubt more of the collection will be looked at in the months and years ahead. Sadly, both would definitely require a script if it were me!

They're quite an impressive operation, Southern. Not least as they now have not quite 25% of all the preserved Bulleid pacifics in their stable.
