I have added a lot of new photos of S.Wales steam scrapyards at Barry and Bridgend in 1966

This 1st collection feature the locos that were unlucky enough to be sent to R.S. Hayes-Birds, Tremains Yard, Bridgend

As all were cut up unlike Barry’s locos

No I do not currently volunteer
The class 47 was D1671 'Thor' which was damaged beyond repair in a fatal accident at Bridgend when less than a year old, on 17/12/1965.

Perhaps the 0-6-0PT is 9642 which was used as the yard shunter
    and later preserved.

The 3 link coupling and lack of vac pipes would suggest that it is, indeed, the yard shunter rather than one intended for immediate scrapping.
