Beyer Peacock 1827/1879 from the foxfield Railway is to be the 'Star' attraction at this year's May Day steam parade at Wolzstyn in Poland!

It should give an interesting comparison between this diminuative locomotive and its larger European brethren. It will be leaving Foxfield for Poland on the 1st May and will be in steam for the duration of the bank holiday weekend before returning to Foxfield... hopefully still in one piece.

Yes that is correct. It was built as an 0-4-2 crane tank for export overseas but the order was cancelled and so it remained at Gorton until it wa purchased for preservation.

    Hi all,

I was there in Wolzstyn for the parade and witnessed the unloading of the locomotive from Foxfield.
    A few picks attached.
Good turn out of locomotive but, well it rained! Nothing to do with a Manchester locomotive being their!
    All the best to all.
