A main line steam tour this coming Friday. :)

On SR metals with a Merchant Navy pacific scheduled to be at the front. :):)

Hope some here will be out to watch, film and photograph it.

Maybe even some well heeled Nat Pressers will be on it?

Looking forward to it ! Will be going after anything DBS steam hauled until further notice. Feels like years, since I had a mainline steam fix :(

When you do its worth it.

Have done Victoria/York trip with wife. Yes quite expensive but well worth the money for a special occasion, our train was completely sold out. 57 hauled but to be honest you are so well looked after, wined and dined you do not notice and the Pullmans (we were in IONE) are the best.

What he doesn't say is that he is having the dog trained to operate a back-up camera, to give the chance of a second angle at each location - sadly, not yet proficient enough for a practical lesson in Pullman filming yet!

Well as people on here wont let me have a Drone, I was training the dog to run along side with the go pro strapped to its back for a pacing shot

Puts on glasses, peers at instructions

Hold at arms length, light blue touch paper and retire quickly to a safe place

Which of course would be fine for a clapped out, all show and no go, southern railway mongrel, but the poor doggy might not be able to keep up with a freshly fettled LNER pedigree

Eeerrr, the blue touch paper bit sounds like there is something mildly explosive on the other end.

Where abouts is it stuck in the dog please?

RTT shows it running nicely to time so far.

Hope there will be some photos and even video here later.

12 Early at Pouparts Junction then 6 late into Vic, so possibly held on the final approach to the terminus.

Hope all went well all the way round.

Made a very spirited ascent through Chilworth dead on time. Looked superb as always.

Happy memories of Ranmore when there was a great pub there, The Ranmore Arms, which we frequented regularly.

    Hmmm..

I'm not sure we have yet given permission for a foreign engine to visit. Maybe if it's passport is fully in order and it doesn't stay too long......................
