Bumped into an old guy downunder in NZ years ago who claimed to be the last known proponent of this 'Heritage' Martial Art. Found out it's enjoying something of a renaissance and would be great for Heritage lines self defence classes. Think Sherlock Holmes with umbrellas/walking sticks etc&. It mostly died out as everyone who could do it volunteered in 1914, and found it wouldnt help against heavy machine guns. The Bart comes from the creator of the noble art, E.W. Barton-Wright, son of the L&Y engineer. It's the only British martial art, and takes in many elements of others, along with Victorian street fighting. Any fancy a group at the ELR?!?
