Wonderful - very many congratulations to all concerned! She's much bigger than I was expecting, too.

Indeed, I expected a 2-4-2T to be shorter than the Manning Wardles but that looks quite beefy by NG standards.

Saw it on the L&B website....THE best 29 seconds of NG footage for years!

Now, just paint it BR goods black, with early crest, wrong way round of course, number it 30762 and we'll have weeks of fun with rabid froth!!

But seriously..... damned great job.... congratulations to all involved.

A great achievement - well done everyone.

Do you think it might now be appropriate to remove the question mark from the thread title?:)

Any interest in the project from the USA as she's a Baldwin design?

When I was based in the US (until 2014) I tried to get interest by posting on various fora and by contacting a Baldwin group. No interest I'm afraid ....

Hi Felix I think you might find this is about to change, I think I am still a member of a couple of mainetwofoot gauge groups so I will try and post something over on them.

    Good luck!
Having lived in the US for 14 years, I am confident that it's impossible to overestimate how uninterested Americans are in anything outside their country! (Bit like the Brits, really ;) )

This doesn't happen often, but I'm in a very positive mood, having been grinning ear to ear evey time I rewatch the video clips.

Looking at old photos, I'd never appreciated how light and airy that cab design is. Must make sighting a damn sight easier for crews more used to cramped steel rabbit hutches!

Is it just me, or is the cow-catcher (or, in Exmoor terms, perhaps that should be pony-pusher?) a slightly different profile to the original? And doesn't Lyn (even operating at half pressure) sound fabulous?

Come hell and high water, I've just got to get to Woody Bay in September to see the loco for myself! What a phenomenal acheivement by the L&B and Keefe's.

Posted the vid on a US forum that I am a member of and the only reaction seems to be a complaint about posting a link.
I think that many British enthusiasts have an interest in international railway matters, certainly compared to the Septics.

Just looked at a couple of American based sites and Felix is right, the sad thing is I tried to get the L&BR and the Maine Railway Museum to Twin I know this side was very interested, but only got diddly squat from across the pond.

Will have to make 4th July a very special day next year.
