Very nice! Sorry if I missed it in an earlier post, but how long is the black remaining for?

She looks lovely! I look forward to seeing her again sometime soon (I'm sure she would sound nice going up the valley for SSS3! :p)

i wonder , has anyone done a Br black tank gala yet because with the ammount of engines that are or have recently been put into Br black livery im sure that there must be enough around now to be able to have a stab at it , lets see , 4600 and 9466, our(kesr) 2 terriers, the 52xx from the mid hants, ive still got some paint left, so how about 1638 in black? with a dover shed plate

A great deal of time and effort was spent getting it into black so I am sure 9466 will stay black for a while.

Excellent job Bruce. Well done to all concerned. Any chance of seeing two black panniers together out on the mainline in the near future?

    Dear All,

Just to let everyone know that 9466 will, at short notice, now be operating the Up Yard shuttle service at Quainton on the Spring Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, 29 and 30 May. This will be the last opportunity to see her in steam at the Bucks Railway Centre before she moves to the Mid Norfolk Railway at the beginning of July.

    Regards

    Bruce Murray

I thought the 52xx was out of ticket now! And as for 1638, the offer has been there for funding to paint it black for some time. However, for a purely commercial reason, she is staying green............

Thats interesting because ive even had someone from the Dean Forrest offer to pay for the crest and shed plate , with a view to them hiring it at some stage if we were to concider putting her into BR black , i thought that a possible option might be there to have one of their GW engines visit us for a double headed gala next year , double headed panniers and terriers ??

She's now got a railtour according to uksteam!
Because 44767 has had to step out of the NNR gala in June, they have now put 9466 on the run from Norwich - Cromer.

Any chance of a return visit to the Spa Valley? Mr Howells was quite involved with their Eridge project and I believe expressed a desire to see 9466 work through to Eridge. I would like to second that!

Interesting to see a railtour on the M&GN be operated by locos from S&GW!

Bruce - 9466 looks really good in this livery, but I suggest that this style dates from the early 1950s not 1964. Number plates were only painted red between November 1949 and April 1952.
