    I HEAR THAT IT IS TO GO MAIN LINE, WHEN Overhaul is complete, at washwood heath,birmingham...............that will make 2 B1s on main line................................... double headed !!!!, rgds john

    I doubt that unless 61264 is getting Air Brakes to work with DBS...

    I can also quite categorically state that 61264 is not going to carry air braking equipment

    Yes as it is maintained to the highest of mechanical standards but at the end of the day it's up to the owner what it does and doesn't do as he is the one paying the bills.

    And whilst we are on the subject Of being "up to it" and before it descends into a one is better than the other debate I work on both 1306 and 61264 both of which are maintained to a very high standard

    People have been asking whether the locomotive would be overhauled to mainline standard and the only answer they got back was that it can't be confirmed at this moment in time. the overhaul is expected for a quick turnaround and return back to the battlefield line for running in but no word on full term use as of yet.

    Can i just ask are you referring to 1306 not going to happen or doubleheaded Mainline B1's ?.
