Quite a long way I believe as they are short of money. IIRC it is intended to restore it as Imperial Smelting Industries No2 with the name plate put on display.

As a complete tangent Edwin was a member of the BEF in WW1 and used to tell stories of his and his mates reactions from being charged by the German cavalry.

A few photos from happier days appear amongst this lot, which really needs sub-folders but I'm way behind reloading stuff from fotopic

The ones of it in steam at the smelting works and on the avonmouth branch aren't mine but were given to me my father from the files at the works.

The one at Fry's shows a very young me and two friends of mine.

This month's edition of the Avon Valley magazine has an announcement that there will be an appeal in the new year -so I'm sure any donation you can make will be very welcome.

The Avon valley news letter usual carries an update. Unfortunately I don't tend to keep mine after I have read it.

However, the scale of the works being carried out seems very extensive so it could be sometime before it is back in working order again.

If you wish to donate, I'm sure they would be happy to have your money. There are a range of offers depending on the size of the donation.
