If its impact you want, then Blue Peter in express passenger blue, would attract a lot of interest and media attention, it would play well with a certain kid's program, LSL could also explain that whilst the livery is an authentic livery once chosen by BR, none of the A2's carried it, because of the thinking of the, explaining that wheel size etc, meant some express engines did not receive it. but they have decided to because of the name to allow it to carry this livery, and for it to be different to other similar looking engines such as Tornado and flying Scotsman.

One thought that occurred to me regarding BP's livery...in 1946, Thompson tried an experimental dark blue livery on 4470 after its rebuild. I don't know whether he intended to roll it out across the whole LNER fleet but I think it's a plausible "might-have-been" livery for the A2s. If blue is Mr Hosking's preference then perhaps this could be another variant for him to try at some point...[IMG]

Regardless of what colour it is, one thing we should all be thankful for is the fact that BLUE PETER is back in steam again for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thanks and round of applause to the LSL Team for a fantastic achievement and to Mr.Hosking for putting in the money to make it happen.

Any reason that the Air Pump runs almost constantly - even when stationary or running light

A certain 0-4-2T built in Whitehaven wears a similar shade of blue to that, and looks rather fetching in it too.

A belated thought related to that. The LNER is generally poorly represented in preserved locos, mainly because of what did or didn't go to Barry, but in numbers of Class 8s and Class 7s currently or soon to be running on the main line the LNER is doing better than the LMS (just two Scots?) and about as well as the Southern and GWR.

Like Tornado, Blue Peter has 2 whistles. The standard LNER style one and a chime whistle (do I recall it being a South African one on 60532 and an ex A4 one on 60163?) and that's the one that can be heard in the first few shots of Kristina's video.

I've seen the chime whistle on 60532 being quoted as American, Australian and from New Zealand as well!
