I don’t know of any new design of steam locomotive. This one was butchering an existing design

It might only be 15" gauge but Lydia built for Perrygrove was most certainly new.

Cheers, Matt. That's the sort of thing I was hoping to appear when I asked the question several days ago. Updates on 60532 seem to be in very short supply :(

There was/is a lot of needle-gunning needed there, I see.

I will never forget the time when a man said to his young son at Ropley in the 1990's "Look at this lovely diesel" as he was pointing and looking at 60007.......which was in steam!

I doubt you'll get an answer to that question until she rolls out of Crewe.

I don’t think LSL are as secretive as some others, Might be worth a look on their website.

They're not secretive about their engines in general, but (to my knowledge and not on their websites) they do not publish updates on the status of overhauls or any projected completions dates/ order of overhaul queue etc.

Nope, but you won't get staff or volunteers posting about stuff on here - when you sign up you agree that you won't be doing that...

...and then if you consider that the person responsible for social media stuff (at least, the person who used to do it, not sure if still the same) regarded NP as a generally toxic environment and thus avoided engaging on here, even the official info doesn't make it directly to NP. (And to be clear, he would have liked to do so, if it weren't for that fact that responses/reactions were predominantly so negative, and often full of 'facts' that had no basis in truth whatsoever.)

Back in the day, when I was connected, they had a superb internal staff/volunteer newsletter which contained this sort of information, but the circulation was strictly controlled.

I am sure when she is complete, and wheeled out of the workshop, it will have been worth the wait.

Should we be thinking about a sweepstake for the date of the great A1,A2,A3,A4 'in steam' line up? ;)

Well a certain A4 will be ready within the year, or maybe quicker, if the lockdown rules get relaxed a bit, so it then becomes possible.

Feel a NYMR gala with the 4 together becoming a quick sell out!!!

It'd certainly cure those notorious adhesion issues with their dining service! ;)

I feel a Mondrian-inspired poster being created for that event...

Would that be being mailed out in a Large Atlantic or Small Atlantic-sized Envelope?

Shouldn't A1 be bigger to be in the same proportion as A0?
