I see the latest mag is suggesting they are pondering painting it lined green and renaming it Cromwell Warrior

Has SR jumped the gun with an April Fool, or is the Loughborough Branch of Sodor Rail getting into full swing ?.

Logical guess, but Red 8F, Green 9F, pretend pullmans, I thought the GCR's ambition was to recreate a mainline as it was ?, it's getting a bit too toytown now to justify such a claim IMO.

At least there is a famous precedent for a lined green 9F

Sounds like what Bill Ford was on about a few issues of SR ago is happening with the 9F as well then. I'd quite like it to stay as it is as I think the lined black suits it but the green be reserved for 92220.

As ever, the owner is entitled to paint his property any colour he likes, and indeed to call it what he likes too. You know, I wonder if someone will actually go through with the old joke about painting their loco a purple base coat with yellow polka dots - or was it the other way round? :p . That would REALLY get the purists frothing :D

Anyone got a photo of this one?

reading that forum, no one seems to like the livery... yet if it was a Highland railway 4-6-0 I think they would think differently...

You've obviously never seen it in colour. It was ghastly.

I thinkk purple with yellow dots would look great but yellow with purple dots would be ridiculous.
