The responses in here are class.

Maybe someone who has two black fives already is bidding (This is utterly unfounded, I'm just adding to the speculation)

I'm up for that Martin, as a Horwich machine though I'd prefer a repaint into L and Y black. My cheques in the post... :)

Maybe all will be revealed at 76084's owning group's upcoming AGM.

I guess if the ELR are raising funds for City of Wells they are out of the running for ‘84.

I really hope that's true! What's your source for saying so?

Has there been a change of ownership or a new deal between the 76084 group and the NNR?

A reliable source. No doubt, the 76084 Loco Co Ltd will issue an update on the situation.

No great surprise there, then, the only interesting development will be whether they try to acquire overall control or are content with partial ownership and an amicable arrangement with the other shareholders. Best place for it, I think.

According to the "Friends of the North Norfolk Railway" facebook group, 76084 remains in shared ownership and is staying on the North Norfolk Railway. The impression given is that nothing has changed in the way 76084 is used or operated.

Glad '84 is staying on the NNR. After the B12 and Y14 it's my favourite on the line.

Companies house records John Oldcorn ceasing to be a person 'with significant control' as of 11/11/17

David Husband is also recorded as ceasing to be a director on 11/11/17

Malcolm Harkett (NNR Managing Director) was appointed as a director on 11/11/17

By implication, Mr Oldcorn has sold his interest in the loco either to Mr Harkett or to the NNR.

I'm pleased it's future is secure and the NNR is a great railway.
Does anyone know the implications on the two RTC tours to Whitby in April? I'm booked on one of them and hope 76084 will still be available as it was one reason for travelling on the tour. Thanks.

Maybe the person who bought John Oldcorn's shares does not want to be a Director.

Wouldn't he/she have to register as a person with significant control, as Mr Oldcorn did?

Suggest you have a look at the NNR PLC listing on the Companies House website.

Ok I admit I am wrong. I have been involved with the NNR for 10 years and never knew his first name was actually Malcolm. Interestingly 'Hugh Harkett' was a director of the M&GN society.
