And very nice she looked too at Linlithgow, on the Bridge, and at Thornton - That's day three of eleven in the bag and I'm just past Lindisfarne on the way home - 34067 tomorrow!

I was on this afternoon's run with the rest of the family who also seemed to enjoy it very much. Very interesting doing the normally freight only Dunfermline to Alloa stretch, and the final run back on the main line from Stirling to Linlithgow was paricularly exhilirating with a good climb up from Falkirk Grahamston to Polmont Junction. Not quite the Tornado effect but many ordinary people about all along the route to watch the train go by in pretty good sunshine for most of the day. 61994 on good form as ever. =D>

I had a great day following the tour, in what was mostly sunshine. The K4 seamed to perform superbly and was good to see both tours packed. That's day 2 down for me, got about 7 more steam filled days to go now =P~

My photos are up on my website www.jonathonag.fotopic.net

Can anyone tell me why it stopped in Alloa loop today on the second run? It was there around 1754 - 1759 for apparent reason.

According to the timing sheet it was booked to stop in Cambus loop from 18.02 til 18.08 to cross the service train. Possibly the service train was early so 61994 was held at Alloa instead.

My dad and I were on the morning tour. A very good trip, a nice way to spend a few hours on a sunny Sunday morning. Photos later.

No the service train wasn't early (it left Stirling late) and before you say it, it wasn't sitting at a red signal.

Pass, then. There was a track circuit failure earlier in the day, but that was nowhere near Alloa.

Well I wish I did because as I was working the Stirling - Kincardine Panel at the time I had the route set for the K4 to make a straight run to Stirling without passing the service train at Cambus. However when the train arrived in Alloa looped it stopped for about 5 minutes and I had to reset my route and go by what the booked timetable was. The train wasn't early, so it wasn't sitting waiting for its time. It was a strange decision and one that I did not understand and one that the Controller knew nothing of.

Anyway, not a big deal. I just wondered if anyone knew why it had stopped.
