I've received an email from Charity Railtours who had intended having Mayflower haul a June excursion to Harwich & Felixstowe.
It stated; During the work at Carnforth, it was found more repairs were necessary than first thought. As a result, the loco will not work at all in 2016.

That's going to be bit of a headache for Steam Dreams, which has advertised Mayflower for quite a few of its 2016 trains.

No skin off their nose, they will just use purple/blue duffs as per.

That is interesting. The owner has told Heritage Railway Magazine that the B1 will be ready by the end of June. The report in the latest issue also mentions that extra work on Mayflower was required on both the boiler and the bottom end but she should return to the ML on 28th June this year with an excursion to Swanage.

UK Steam has loco TBA for 28th June but still has it listed for 19th July onwards.

That seems to be a more likely return date. I didn't realise the SD 9th July run had been cancelled. I wonder if this is due to a lack of crews as WCRC are operating the RTC trip to Weymouth which requires several crews as two steam loco's are rostered for this trip (no laughing at the back!) or it was cancelled due to 61306 being unavailable?

The 9/7 Southend to Brighton disappeared from the SD website 3 - 4 weeks ago. There are engineering works between Clapham Junction and Willesden that weekend.
