    I presume allows transport in an air-brake only consist providing there are air-braked coaches/wagons behind it in the train. Does that mean it could run an excursion with Nunney Castle (fitted with air brakes) and air-braked only stock provided it was the train loco?

    Yes, this has happened occasionally. Eg 5029+70013+air braked set. Also 6024+7802+VSOE set.

    It's been quite a while since this thread was active, and likewise it has been a while since there was much news on 6023.
    Return was stated March, then May, and now it's June, but the website hasn't been updated for a while.

    Any information, anyone?

    According the facebook page all the mechanical stuff has been done, its now back in the shed waiting for a clean up and the boiler work to be done.
